Christmas Attractions and Events in Chicago

The best place to start to see the light attractions of Chicago during the holiday season would probably be the Chicago Christmas tree at Daley Plaza, and then the Magnificent Miles Lights Festival parade which signals the start of other magnificent lightshows that last through the entire Christmas season. The Lincoln Park Zoo on the other hand is transformed into a magical wonderland illuminated by more or less 2 million lights. This holiday classic tradition is one of Chicago’s best seasonal events. There is picture taking with Santa through December 23, complete with ice carvings and holiday crafts. Not to be outdone are Brookfield Zoo, Buckingham Fountain, Cuneo Museum Winter Wonderland and Navy Pier Winter Wonderfest.

The kids will definitely have their hands full of exciting Christmas activities, The Gingerbread Fantasy Factory for one, delights the little ones with their very own cookie creations, After which, they can explore the wonders of the kingdom under the sea with Neptune Holiday Kingdom. Kids will get the chance to see wonderful sea creatures and a very close encounter at that. Another good way of introducing them to arts is a visit to Drury Lane Children’s Theatre where they will be able to see the classic A Christmas Carol and have breakfast or dinner with Santa after the show.

Strolling in the streets of Chicago with more than 50 trees decorated by different ethnic communities, occasional falling snow and lively performances becomes a delightful experience, Another activity which adults are really excited about is the Christ kind market, the grandest holiday ornament and décor exhibit where German products and food are offered by vendors from America and Europe.
